I didn't get caught up in the new shoe craze that hit Colorado in 2004. In fact, I thought they looked funny...who would want to wear bulky, heavy, rubber shoes that had holes in them?! Not only that, but it seemed that the poplular colors were a little too 'bright and funky' for me.
Fast forward to early 2005 - My mother in law, an avid gardner, bought a pair of yellow Crocs® to wear while she worked outside. She loved them and at one of our family dinners, she brought them out to show me the famous 'crocs' I had tried to avoid for so long. In short, I was shocked at how lightweight and soft these shoes were. I still wasn't crazy about the look, but was more open to trying them if they were as comfortable as she claimed they were.
Being pregnant at the time I contemplated buying a pair strictly for the comfort factor - but foolishly kept putting that off. It wasn't until about a month after I have birth to my 1st child - I finally made the trip to Vitamin Cottage and made one of the best purchases I've ever made. I had never - and still have never - stepped foot into a more comfortable pair of shoes in my life. Even my 'name brand' walking shoes didn't come close to offering the comfort of my new found love - Crocs®.
They have ultimately become my everyday shoes - except in rainy or snowy weather, obviously. They are extremely lightweight- as if you're wearing slippers or walking barefoot. They're sturdy, easy to clean and make great shoes for long periods of time of standing or long, long walks.
Do I recommend Crocs®? ABSOLUTELY! I've pretty much told everyone I know they need to get themselves a pair. I even convinced my brother to get a pair - which he did, in black of course, and he loves them. So, if you don't already have a pair - go out and get you one or two! Crocs are a must have in my opinion. They have outstanding design, amazing durability, a funky look and undoubtable comfort! Don't put off getting yours another day. Oh yeah - What color did I get? Baby blue, of course!
