Butter Balls
(to add to chicken noodle soup)

 

- 3 loaves sliced French bread, dried
- ½ lb butter, melted
- 12 eggs separated, beaten separately
- 2 ½ tsp allspice or nutmeg
- 2 ¾ cups sweet cream (whipping cream)
- salt

Dry bread, roll and sift.
Add allspice, salt and then butter.
Mix very good.
Add cream and again mix good.
Add egg yolks, then add beaten egg whites
Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
Store in freezer and add to chicken noodle soup.
