quick almond crunch


- 1 cup real butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ½ cups slivered blanched almonds
- 1 to 2 cups chocolate chips

In skillet, melt 1 cup of butter;
Stir in 1 cup of sugar;
Add 1 ½ cups almonds;
Stir constantly 10-15 minutes.
Pour into 8x8 pan, spreading thinly.
Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips ( and add more if desired) and spread evenly. Chill and crack candy to distribute.

*** Cooking and stirring for 10-15 minutes constantly is an important part of the process for it to harden correctly. Don't eliminate or shorten this step.
