- 1/3 cup ground coffee
- 2 cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
- 6 whole cloves
- 1 vanilla bean, about 3" long
- 1½ quarts water
Combine coffee, cinnamon pieces, and cloves in an airtight container. Split vanilla bean and scrape seeds into the coffee mixture. Slice the vanilla bean into 3 pieces and add to mixture. Cover and store in an airtight container overnight (or longer) to allow flavors to blend.
To serve, brew the coffee mixture and water in 10 cup coffee maker (just like making regular coffee). Serve hot. Add whip cream on top and chocolate shavings. An added touch would be a peppermint candy cane as a 'stirrer'.
